Ballyhoura Bears Autumn Walking Festival 15th - 17th October, 2010

Congratulations to Ballyhoura Bears and Deebert House Kilmallock on an excellent Autumn Walking

Festival 2010.   The glorious weather further enhanced an already shining example of how Walking Festivals

should be run.   Anyone thinking of starting or revamping a Walking Festival should visit the Ballyhoura Bears

for any of their Walking events.

The inclusion of "C Grade" walks each day showed care was taken to afford everyone

an enjoyable four hours without any prizes been sought for quickest to the top.    Hospitality at start and end of each walk, with copious amounts of hot fingerfood after the Night Walks was exceptionally generous and the Gaelic Night "Blister Ball" was a great hit.   The courtesy and care of the many, many leaders and sweepers made me feel comfortable and enabled to enjoy the beautiful countryside of the Darragh Hills and surrounding area.  I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend.    Top marks to the Bears and to all at Deebert House.
